Summer Mixed Case
Our Favorite Summer Sippers
Every Bottle Discounted 20%!
July 4th is just around the corner, the market is teeming with squash and basil and even tomatoes have made an appearance... It seems like the right time to get a summer mixed case together.
We wanted you to have an arsenal of our favorite bottles to beat the heat or tackle some charred meat fresh off the grill.
As always, we've tasted through the world of wine searching for the most interesting wines and the best values.
To make it even better, this summer mixed case represents the BEST DEAL on these wines: a stellar cast of bottles, discounted 20%!
This brings a case that would be about $237.88 down to $190.28.
The breakdown is five reds, five whites and two rosés. To begin with the whites, La Foret des Damnes' Sancerre is crisp, herbal and mineral Sancerre. It's perfect for drinking on a hot day. In a similar vein, Arregi's Txakolina from Basque country is light with a slight sparkle and exactly what's needed when temperatures climb. In a weightier and more serious category is Javillier's 2010 Bourgogne Blanc. Javillier's Bourgogne is a perennial overachiever. Showing the concentration and breeding of a wine way above its humble Bourgogne status.
For rosés, there are two entries from the south of France. First, Chateau d'Oupia's always delicious rosé. Then, there's Bagnol's more sophisticated Cassis rosé from Provence with its gentle red fruits and subtle spicy herbal kick.
Reds are divided between lighter ones that take a chill well, like Peillot's 2011 Bugey Pinot Noir, and a couple of weightier entries for grilled meats. Rosi Schuster's Blaufränkisch 2009 from Austria with its spiced dark fruits is perfect wine for the grill. In a more bright fruited style, Dashe's Dry Creek Zinfandel is another wine crying out for what comes off the grill.
Details on every wine in the mixed case are below - there's plenty to explore and enjoy.
And check out the website regularly, because as the seasons change, so will our mixed case. In fact, we will always have a tailored - and discounted - mixed case available online, so when these 12 bottles run out, don't hesitate to reorder.
