For the Burgundy obsessed, Gevrey, Chambolle, and Vosne form a holy trinity.
Due to its muscle, earthy minerality, and grand elegance, Gevrey has achieved a wide-ranging renown that's unrivaled.
Gevrey has provided some of my most profound drinking experiences and today, I'm excited to pay tribute to Gevrey with an offering of its top talent.
Including Rousseau's three greats - Chambertin, Clos de Beze, and Clos St. Jacques - felt obligatory. As did having Bachelet's Charmes, which is a mindblowing example of what Burgundy has to offer.
You'll also find Drouhin's Griotte and a few wines from Duroché; both are personal favorites. I should also call attention to Lignier's Gevrey 1er Cru Aux Combottes. Combottes is located in the southern part of Gevrey on the border with Morey St. Denis and is pretty much surrounded by Grand Crus - it exists in the shadows of Clos de la Roche, Latricieres-Chambertin, and Charmes-Chambertin. It is a seriously impressive bottle.
I'll let you get to the list. Please keep in mind that quantities are very limited. Give us your ideal order, and we'll do our best.
