About This Wine

Croix et Courbet is the result of the combined force of David Croix and Damien Courbet. The two met in enology school in Dijon. Damien returned to his family's domaine in Jura and David went to work in Burgundy, quickly becoming one of the most highly regarded winemakers of his generation. Damien has played an essential part in finding choice sites and both collaborate in winemaking decisions. Their focus is on the Savagnin grape made in a non-oxidative fashion. The 2019 Côtes du Jura combines power with a soaring complexity. I was impressed by the wine's stony texture and wallop of acidity. There's a seamless weave of spice, citrus, herbs, and stone fruits. The wine's finesse and overall composition really stand out.
