About This Wine
Dubost's 2020 En Brenay manages the somewhat miraculous trick of offering up plenty of Moulin-à-vent's structure and stern minerality while still being deliciously accessible and expressive.
It shows great complexity, delivering vivid plum, blueberry, and gently spiced cherry fruits backed by savory, almost meaty elements and notes of crushed stones. As stated, Moulin-à-Vent is most often the largest-proportioned of all Beaujolais' Crus, yet in Dubost's hands the wine has much more than power, it is finely etched and finessed.
Simply put, this delivers a lot of wine for the money. Its combination of freshness and silky texture makes it very versatile at the table and very enjoyable on its own. This is certainly a wine to have around in quantity.
