Brilliance in the Côte des Blancs:
2017 Agrapart Minéral Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru

Posted by Ian McFadden

It's Minéral's kinetic energy and finesse that makes it one of our favorite grower Champagnes.

It is one of the most riveting expressions of Chardonnay to be found. Minéral is an absolutely terroir-saturated Champagne.

In any vintage, it's a bottle that more than lives up to its name. It is sourced from two prime lieux-dits with 40-year-old vines grown on the hard, white chalk in Avize and Cramant.

Agrapart produced some of our favorite Champagnes of the 2017 vintage. The Minéral is certainly a standout from their lineup.

The 2017 Minéral is a very exciting Champagne. It's crystalline, energetic, and has a sleek, chalky tension. We love the wine's razor-sharp, tactile grip, and fineness. Few producers hit this level of precision and elegance.

Agrapart's are some of the most refined Chardonnays to be found in the Côte des Blancs. Pascal and Fabrice Agrapart are masters of the terroir. The 2017 Minéral makes this clear. I'm happy to have another opportunity to offer.

The Wine Advocate, William Kelley: "The 2017 Extra-Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Minéral has turned out nicely, exhibiting notes of orange zest, Meyer lemon, white flowers and hazelnuts, followed by a medium to full-bodied, satiny and seamless palate that's layered, vinous and elegantly mineral, exhibiting a charming profile that will make this vintage approachable young."
