White Burgundy Dynamite:
2014 Coche-Dury Meursault

Posted by Ian McFadden

Coche-Dury's Meursault exists on its own plane. It marks a place where Burgundy's neat hierarchies crumble.

Coche-Dury's Meursault may very well be the greatest village wine on earth. There are Grand Crus that it puts to shame.

The 2014 white Burgundies are easily among the best we've tasted over the past two decades. Coche's 2014s are dynamite. These wines have been revered since day one and have only grown in stature over the years. It's a top vintage from one of the world's elite producers.

This is all to say that Coche's 2014 Meursault is a special wine.

I'm happy to offer a small parcel of the wine at the lowest price in the country.

The 2014 Meursault has an aristocratic flair, with a shocking combination of opulence and rigor. It is dramatic, densely mineral, and possesses a class and intensity that's heartbreaking.

This wine has always been defined by its cut, soaring complexity, and textual appeal. Age has only made the wine more multifaceted and nuanced.

I'll wrap this up. It's rare that I get my hands on Coche's Meursault with age on it, and these quantities are very limited.
