Pascal Cotat's Rosé occupies a very special place. Few, if any rosés, age better or with more elegance.

We've had bottles with 10 and even 20 years of age that have blown us away. The 2002 is a legendary bottle around here.

It's obvious that the world has taken notice. Finding Pascal Cotat's Rosé can be very difficult. Currently, there's only three listings of the wine in the world. Typical allocations are around six bottles.

You can expect Pascal Cotat's 2017 Rosé to be a high-toned and powerful example of the wine. It has an amazing purity of bright fruits, floral notes and tactile minerality. Across the Loire, spring frost reduced yields, but the conditions at harvest were close to ideal. The wines are intense, but also clear and lifted.

When it comes to Sancerre, Cotat's village of Chavignol is a very special place. Chavignol is absolutely defined by its terroir - Kimmeridgian marl, the same soil as parts of Chablis - that imbues the wine with Chablis-like minerality.

With age, there is a silky texture and gentle floral notes, but it's the stony minerality that defines old Cotat rosé. It's the terroir that comes to dominate the rosé with a singular minerality.

I'm going to wrap this up. Pascal Cotat's Rosé has a huge following and there's no point fanning the fire.
