Being able to offer Raveneau has become a very rare luxury, and being able to offer Les Clos has become nearly impossible.
Today, I'm very excited to offer a very modestly sized parcel of Ravneau's 1997 Clos.
The Grand Cru of Les Clos needs no introduction. Among Chablis' Grand Crus, it is the undisputed king. Les Clos is as powerful and densely mineral as Chablis gets.
Ravenau is one of the absolute masters of the site. The wine represents Chablis at its most statuesque, dazzling, and complex. All of its power and seashell minerality are married to supreme elegance.
The 1997 Clos is a soaring and powerful example of the Grand Cru. It offers a beguiling saline inflected texture. The palate offers up a silky rush of minerals, stone fruits, and spice. This is a large-scaled Clos for sure, but the rigor of its grand architecture really stands out.
This is the sort of offer that I could only do on a holiday. The quantities are too limited and sightings of Raveneau's Clos are too few. This is the only listing for '97 Clos in the country. Please give us your ideal order, and we'll try our best.
