"Readers who haven't discovered these wines yet owe it to themselves to do so." –Antonio Galloni

The Champagnes of Chartogne-Taillet are some of the most exciting fizz in the region.

In 2006, Alexandre Chartogne returned to his family’s domaine after working with Anselme Selosse with huge ambitions and endless curiosity. Chartogne-Taillet had been working at a very high level for some time. However, since Alexandre’s return, the wines have been elevated to an elite level.

He's one of the most thoughtful winemakers that we know. And it shows in the wines. Chartogne-Taillet’s wines are deep, painstakingly precise and incisively mineral. They are simply thrilling.

Their vintage bottling is a Pinot and Chardonnay blend from the single vineyard Les Couarres. It's a mineral freight train with an expansive and gripping presence.

Chartogne-Taillet's 2008 is gorgeous, showing the vintage's energy, length and clarity. In Champagne, 2008 quickly established itself as one of the best vintages of recent years, a status that it shares with 1996 and 2002. Unlike the 1996 and 2002, which were muscular vintages, 2008 is about verve and cool mineral clarity. We really love the 2008 for this reason.

Chartogne-Taillet is one of Champagne's hottest producers and it's really difficult to find the wines in any quantity. Allocations of the top wines are typically a case or two. We have an extremely limited amount available. Please give us your ideal order and we'll try our best.
