Few wines on earth grab your attention like FX Pichler's.
They possess a bold swagger and power, but that's only part of the story. Look beneath the surface and you'll find something very intricate. They are also wonderfully clear, precise and with their own unique flamboyant elegance.
This begins to explain why FX Pichler casts such a big shadow over Austrian wine.
As you can guess, Pichler's 2015s are commanding and impressive wines. Along with 2007 and 2013, Pichler's 2015s are the best that we've seen from the estate in the past decade.
Today, I'm happy to offer four of FX Pichler's top Rieslings - Kellerberg, Loibnerberg, Steinertal and "M" - at very sharp pricing. The best price is on a mixed case, which we put together because each of these deserves a place in your cellar.
The 2015 vintage in Austria produced shimmering, pure wines with layered fruit and firm, vibrant and detailed mineral cores. It's a really beautiful combination and it's clear why 2015 is already being called one of the top vintages of the past twenty years.
Among Pichler's 2015 line-up, there's no better place to witness the vintage's purity and mineral backbone than Steinertal. Steinertal's signature is extreme focus with great delineation of mineral and stone fruits. This is one of those insider bottlings that's capable of aging.
In contrast, the Loibnerberg is lavish and muscular. But the 2015 vintage makes itself felt in a lean, animated mineral core. It's the combination of saturating depth and tension that makes the 2015 Loibnerberg so compelling.
Kellerberg hardly needs an introduction. It's one of Austria's greatest sites - many would place it at the very top. When you taste a Kellerberg, it's obvious how complete it is. The 2015 Riesling is luxurious, long, detailed and incredibly finessed.
Finally, the Riesling Reserve "M," which is a rarity. "M" stands for monumental and it is always an epic wine. The Riesling Reserve "M" has a grand architecture and penetrating complexity. This is where the magic of Pichler reaches a high point. It flirts with extremity and somehow pulls back before going over the edge. It's intense, concentrated and yet remains agile.
To wrap things up, I'll just mention that quantities are extremely limited. This is something that we advise you to jump on.
