Taillepieds is one of d'Angerville's wines that people get obsessed with.
There's a group of people who hold Taillepieds even dearer than Ducs.
Today, we pay homage to d'Angerville's Taillepieds with an offering of magnums from the 2017 and 2018 vintages.
D’Angerville’s Taillepieds parcel is half the size of their Ducs holdings and a quarter of Champans, making it one of the hardest of d'Angerville's wines to find in quantity. Magnums of Taillepieds are incredibly rare. Accordingly, I should warn you that quantities are very limited and at this sharp pricing, I expect a fast sell out.
Taillepieds is all about raciness - it's full of stony minerality and has an intricate depth. The Taillepieds plot sits just above Champans and is very steeply sloped with poor, rocky soil.
In 2017, the site shines. Guillaume d'Angerville describes the 2017s as having “a harmonious blend of finesse and energy with excellent terroir transparency.” This is spot on, and the reason we fell in love with this wine.
The warmth of the 2018 vintage endowed Taillepieds with a world-class punch. Burghound highlights the finish that "goes on and on". In 2018 Taillepieds combines the vintage's intensity with ethereal perfume, lift, finesse, and sleek focus.
This is definitely an offer that I don't feel a need to belabor. Taillepieds is one of d'Angerville's top wines and a personal favorite. This is a very small parcel that I expect to sell out quickly. Please give us your ideal order and we'll try our best.

Burghound: "Here the reticent nose is at once ripe yet cool with a lovely layered quality to the mix of violet, spice, dark berry liqueur and Asian-style tea aromas. The super-sleek, intense, mineral-driven and refined medium weight flavors that culminate in a very serious, youthfully austere and built-to-age finish that just goes on and on. A classic Taillepieds that will require extended patience."
