It's very rare that we get to offer Fourrier's Combe Aux Moines.
I jumped at the opportunity to buy this parcel of 2017 Combe Aux Moines.

Precision and clarity are Fourrier's calling cards, and they are on bold display in the 2017s. They are ultra-detailed wines of serious transparency, finessed structures, and whip-smart tension.
As is often the case, the Gevrey 1er Cru Combe Aux Moines is one of the most compelling wines. The vines were planted in 1928, and the wine combines intensity with a nimble, spice-inflected radiance.
Fourrier's 2017 Combe Aux Moines offers up an explosive array of red and dark cherry fruit, floral notes, minerals, earth, and spice. There's a wildness and power that's presented with impressive detail, honesty, and harmony. Above all, the wine's elegance stands out.
Jean-Marie Fourrier took over his family's domaine in 1994 after working under Henri Jayer. He wasted no time defining his unique style and catapulting his family's domaine into Burgundy's elite tier.
The 2017 Combe Aux Moines captures this domaine in top form. The brilliance of Fourrier's wines is on clear display here. I'm very happy to offer this wine.

Burghound: "A brooding nose consists of essence of plum and black cherry scents that are cut with notes of warm earth and the sauvage. The rich, medium-bodied and reasonably concentrated flavors possess good power and muscle on the mouth coating and serious finale. This well made and youthfully austere effort will need at least 5 to 7 years first and potentially reward up to 15."
