Alex Moreau is simply one of the most talented producers of white Burgundy.
Moreau's wines are explosive, rigorously sculpted, and above all, pure. I'm always taken by their pristine high-toned gracefulness.
One of my favorite places to witness Moreau's talent is at Bourgogne and Villages level. These are wines that greatly surpass expectations.
Last Sunday, we offered Moreau's 2018 Bourgogne Blanc. This week, I'm happy to follow up with his Chassagne-Montrachet.
The 2018 Chassagne offers up radiant stone fruits with intense minerality and perfectly integrated richness. There's an impressive mingling of power, length, and elegance.
Moreau's incredibly successful 2018s really drive home why this is such an exciting domaine. The Chassagne shows the brilliant balance. As I said last week, it's rare that we get to offer Bernard Moreau. We have a very small quantity available and I expect a quick sell out.

Burghound: "Discreet wood influence sets off the ripe aromas of various white-fleshed fruit along with hints of matchstick and lemon rind. The rich and relatively full-bodied flavors possess both good detail and punch, all wrapped in a less refined but notably more complex finale. This is a quality Chassagne villages."
