Bachelet-Monnot's Puligny AC has become one of our most anticipated releases.
It is a really exciting villages level white Burgundy. It combines seriousness with an irresistible deliciousness that's rarely encountered in white Burgundy.
That was one of the main reasons the 2019 Puligny was my wine of the year in 2021. That vintage was a high-water mark for the domaine and the wines have continued to improve even further in the subsequent vintages.
In 2005, brothers Marc and Alexandre Bachelet founded Bachelet-Monnot. In no time their wines were turning the heads of even the most seasoned Burgundy tasters.
As Burghound's note below highlights, this is a tense and electric vintage of the wine. The wine's signature is a gentle citrus-infused minerality that's delivered with luminous precision. The 2021 is especially bright.
Bachelet-Monnots are revelatory expressions of Burgundy. The 2021 Puligny highlights how beautiful and compelling these wines are.

Burghound: "Firm reduction blocks an analysis of the nose today. By contrast, there is a really lovely sense of underlying tension to the dense and relatively powerful middleweight flavors that are succulent yet nicely detailed while retaining the innate refinement of a Puligny. This is an excellent villages that is well worth your consideration."
