"A delight"
2022 Alex Moreau Chassagne-Montrachet

Posted by Ian McFadden

For many years, Moreau's Chassagne has been our go-to wine of the lineup.

Alex Moreau is simply one of the most talented producers of white Burgundy. The Chassagne AC stands out as a testament to his skill as a winemaker.

The Chassagne combines explosive aromatics with power and a beautiful gracefulness. What's amazing is how Moreau weaves this intensity into a wine of incredible harmony and drive.

Today, I'm happy to offer Moreau's 2022 Chassagne-Montrachet.

Moreau's 2022 collection drives home just how finely tuned the winemaking at this domaine has become. Burghound writes, "I would add that 2022 is a particularly good vintage for the domaine and these are wines to seek out."

The 2022 Chassagne-Montrachet delivers plenty of impact with a beautiful walk-on-tiptoe finesse. Ripe citrus notes give the wine a nervy edge. There are beguiling, high-toned notes of flowers, spices, and stone fruit.

I'm very happy to offer this great example of Moreau's Chassagne at sharp pricing. I suggest that you stock up. Their Chassagne ages beautifully, and we have high hopes for the 2022.

Neal Martin, Vinous Media: "The 2022 Chassagne-Montrachet Village has a very composed bouquet with yellow plum, fresh pear and light lemon verbena scents that gain momentum in the glass. The well-balanced palate is harmonious and focused, with a keen line of acidity and a dab of orange rind and peach skin on the finish. A delight"
