Bachelet-Monnot's 2020s have an incredible amount of balance, clarity, and presence.
In short, it's a dream brew vintage for this producer.
In 2005, brothers Marc and Alexandre Bachelet founded Bachelet-Monnot. In no time their wines were turning the heads of even the most seasoned Burgundy tasters.
In recent vintages, things have kicked into high gear. Last year, I named the 2019 Puligny my wine of the year.
The 2020 is a brilliant followup to the 2019's success. It's gripping and intense with lift and focus. There's serious length for a villages wine and a gorgeous tapering elegance on the finish.
Bachelet-Monnots are revelatory expressions of Burgundy. The 2020 Puligny underscores the caliber of winemaking at this domaine. I wish availability were better, but I'm happy to have at least this modest parcel to offer.

Burghound: "A markedly more floral-suffused nose offers up notes of fresh white orchard fruit and subtle spice wisps. The delicious, racy and finer medium-bodied flavors possess slightly better depth along with much better persistence. Worth considering."
