Bachelet-Monnot's 2023s combine presence and focus. They really nailed the vintage.
For the past decade, things have clicked into high gear at Bachelet-Monnot. Each vintage, the wines seem to go from strength to strength.

In 2023, this evolution comes into clear focus. Few producers captured the vintage as thoughtfully and as compellingly.Â
Today, I'm happy to offer their 2023Â Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Referts.Â
Referts borders Meursault and boasts some of the richness and depth that Meursault is famous for. But this is only half the story. What makes Referts so interesting is the way it tames the Meursault-like richness just enough to strut an intense focus and nimble finesse.
Of course, Bachelet-Monnot renders its Referts with an astounding purity. The 2023 is brilliantly balanced, combining luscious yellow fruits with crushed rocks and zingy citrus flavors.
The Referts is a bottle that's difficult to find in quantity. I encourage you to get your orders in early. When many people see Bachelet-Monnot Referts, they buy it without hesitation.

Burghound: "An even more floral-suffused nose speaks of aromas of petrol, crushed anise, lemon-lime and a touch of green apple. The medium weight flavors aren't as concentrated but they at once finer and more powerful, all wrapped in a bone-dry, precise and solidly persistent finale. As is usually the case with this wine in its youth, it could use better depth but that should not be an issue if given a chance."
