The signature of the domaine is a captivating, deeply textural and racy style. Tasting them for the first time, you immediately stop and take notice.
Forêts is one of the most sought-after 1er Crus in Chablis, known for its complexity, finesse, and aging potential. Moreau’s parcel is right next to Dauvissat’s, and along with Dauvissat, Moreau-Naudet’s is one of my favorite examples of the site.
In 2017, the Forêts is so good that it comes across as a jolt of discovery. Everything seems perfectly harmonious and rigorously precise. Antonio Galloni's tasting note really nails the wine: " The interplay of richness and energy gives the Forets myriad dimensions of complexity that will start to emerge more fully with time in bottle."
This is an absolutely brilliant bottle of Chablis. As Galloni's note points out, it is poised to age really, really well. Thankfully, word is not out yet on Moreau-Naudet and the Forêts is an incredible value.
