"A gorgeous wine"
2017 Bartolo Mascarello Barbera d'Alba

Posted by Ian McFadden

This is the first time that we've been able to offer Bartolo Mascarello's Barbera d'Alba.

It's a wine that we seek out each year but is frustratingly hard to find in quantity.

The Mascarello estate makes some of the most soulful and compelling wines anywhere. Few Piedmont producers are as loved or as sought after. It probably isn't surprising that these are the only bottles of 2017 Barbera in the country.

Mascarello's Barbera is one of the most compelling examples of the grape. It possesses beautiful savory notes and an unmistakable old-school style.

The 2017 vintage was warm, and the wines show an inclination towards richness. Mascarello's Barbera does a stellar job of balancing the richness of the vintage with their more refined and somewhat stern traditional style.

It has an astonishing depth and textual presence while remaining lively. The wine is delicious and packed with layers of dark cherries and plum, leather, spice, and floral notes.

I'm going to wrap this up. Any time that we offer Mascarello, it sells out quickly. Please give us your ideal order, and we'll try our best.

To order, email offers@crushwineco.com or call the store at (212) 980-9463.
