A High-Water Mark
2015 Drouhin Clos de Vougeot

"This wine holds out superb long-term potential."

-Stephen Tanzer, Vinous Media

There are vintages where magic happens at Drouhin. 2015 is one of them.

When a vintage dovetails well with Drouhin's refined jewel-box style, the results are beautiful. The 2015 red Burgundies seem to have it all – depth, power, finesse, and clarity. It's in these conditions that Drouhin produced a stunning Clos de Vougeot.

As Stephen Tanzer's note above makes clear, the 2015 Clos de Vougeot is a dead serious wine. There's a grandeur to its architecture that's amazing. Plus, it delivers a multifaceted presentation of fruit, earth, flower and rock.

Drouhin's Clos de Vougeot has long stood as one of most persuasive examples of the Grand Cru.

There's no getting around the fact that Clos de Vougeot is a large and variable site. For sure, not all of the wines you taste seem up to Grand Cru stature. But when you taste a top example, say Leroy's, Mugneret-Gibourg's or Drouhin's, there's something absolutely seductive about the wine. It's velvety, darkly spiced and richly nuanced.

Drouhin's 2015 Clos de Vougeot might be one of the best Clos de Vougeots they have ever made. 2015 is emerging as one of the most important vintages of the last three decades. Even the most seasoned Burgundy collectors and aficionados are placing the 2015 reds among the legends of the past generation. And Drouhin's collection represents the vintage at it best.

As one would guess, there's an enormous demand for the 2015s. It took a good amount of work to secure enough for an offer and still there's not a lot available. Please give us your ideal order and we'll try our best.
