Perrières is holy ground for Chardonnay. This site produces deeply complex wines with a riveting tension, intensity, and refined elegance. Meursault doesn’t have any Grand Crus, but there’s no doubt that Perrières can rival Grand Crus from other villages.
The combination of Perrières and Heitz-Lochardet's style is magical. Their Perrières is shocking in its finesse, tension-filled punch, and focus. The 2018 is sleek and silky with an undercurrent of mineral cut. It has lovely high-toned floral notes and an utterly captivating clarity.
It's very clear that Heitz is one of Burgundy's great young talents. Nearly everyone I give a bottle of Heitz-Lochardet to comes back to buy more. The Perrières represents the pinnacle of the estate.
