We buy every bottle of Fornerol's Côte de Nuits that we can get our hands on.
Very few Burgundies hit a combination of seriousness, drinkability, and affordability the way that Fornerol's Côte de Nuits Rouge does. It simply nails it.
It's become very clear that our audience has taken notice. Every time we offer Fornerol's wines, the response sends us scrambling to fulfill orders.
Fornerol Côte de Nuits Rouge is one of the greatest deals in sub-$50 red Burgundy.
I have a soft spot for Côte de Nuits, mostly due to Bachelet's wines. Didier Fornerol takes Côte de Nuits to a level of refinement and sheer deliciousness that I thought was impossible.
Fornerol's Burgundies feel like time capsules. Their grace and lightness harken back to old-school Burgundy. The 2018 Côte de Nuits is an incredibly appealing vintage of the wine. There's an unbelievable texture to the wine along with plenty of earthy, mineral, and spice inflected depth. The poise and detail of the wine are particularly compelling.
Didier Fornerol was the vineyard manager and cellar master at Domaine de L’Arlot from 1982 until 1998. In 1999, he returned to his family's domaine. Today, he has really fine-tuned the winemaking at the domaine with crucial help from L'Arlot's legendary Jean-Pierre de Smet. Given how much we've loved many of the older L'Arlot wines, it's no surprise that Fornerol is such an impressive discovery for us.
For a number of vintages, we've been singing the praises of Fornerol's wines. Once you taste the Côte de Nuits, it becomes very clear that it's special. The momentum behind Fornerol has really begun to accumulate. I suggest that you take advantage of the special 4-pack pricing while you can.
