A Multi-Faceted Success:
2015 Bernard Moreau Chassagne-Montrachet

Posted by Ian McFadden

Domaine Bernard Moreau's white Burgundies are some of the purest and most complicated expressions of Chardonnay around.

The wine works on a mind-boggling amount of registers. They are graceful and high-toned, luscious and rigorous, deep with a stern underlying architecture.

For Burgundy fanatics, Moreau's is one of the essential names to know. Alex Moreau is simply one of Burgundy's most talented young winemakers.

The 2015 collection makes clear just how thoughtful the winemaking is at the domaine. Moreau's are among the most compelling whites of the vintage.

Moreau's Chassagne has explosive high-toned notes of flowers, spice and bright stone fruits. There's power and muscle with tremendous clarity and finesse. It's really impressive how the wine is able to harness the vintage's richness and weave it into such harmony.

Moreau's incredibly successful 2015 Chassagne really drives home why this is such an exciting domaine. Our parcel just arrived and I'm happy to have a second opportunity to offer it. Everything that they turn out seems so clear and finely judged. Not to be missed.
