"A profound wine in the making...keeps company with vintage's finest"
2019 Trapet Chambertin Bottles & Magnums

Posted by Ian McFadden

There is likely no grander, more soaring expression of red Burgundy than Chambertin.

Few wines have blown my mind the way Chambertin consistently has.

For many of you, all of this sounds trite. Chambertin is one of the legendary wines of the world.

Today, I'm happy to offer Trapet's 2019 Chambertin in bottles and the only magnums available in the country. This vintage represents a breakthrough for the wine.

Over the past decade, Trapet's wines have really entered the zone. They've assumed a clarity and a levity that's impossible not to notice.

In 2019, Trapet entered another realm. William Kelley highlights this when he writes: "My tasting with Jean-Louis Trapet was one of my most exciting visits during three months traversing the Côte d'Or".

As always, the Chambertin represents the pinnacle of the collection. It is an epic red Burgundy. The wine has an incredible amount of complexity, intensity, and breeding. What's extraordinary about the wine is how it carries Chambertin's muscle while walking on tiptoe. The lifted elegance is jaw-dropping.

Trapet simply nailed it with his 2019 Chambertin. This is a don't miss vintage to check out what's happening at the domaine. I should warn that quantities are very limited. Please give us your ideal order, and we'll try out best.

William Kelley, The Wine Advocate: "Trapet's 2019 Chambertin Grand Cru is a profound wine in the making, and it can keeps company with vintage's finest. Wafting from the glass with deep aromas of cherries and cassis, complemented by notions of raw cocoa, blood orange, smoked meats, rich soil tones and spices, it's full-bodied, multidimensional and complete, with a weightless, elegant profile despite its prodigious concentration, its structuring tannins entirely concealed in an ample core of lively, vibrant fruit."
