La Viallière is my favorite of Clusel-Roch's line up. There's no denying the grandeur of Grandes Places. Still, it's La Viallière's finesse and verve that impresses me the most.

2015 is a killer vintage for La Viallière. Many seasoned tasters have put the 2015 vintage among the most exciting vintages in the past decade. Jancis Robinson has written, "Grab northern Rhône 2015 reds with both hands.”

The 2015 La Viallière has serious drive, a really appealing glossy texture and a perfect amount of lift. The spectrum of aromatics covers serious ground - spice, florals, stony minerality, olives, thyme and dark fruits. There's a lusciousness married to a pinpoint focus that's really lovely.

The 2015 Viallière shows Clusel-Roch hitting on all eight cylinders. Given the overall volume, structure and harmony, it's easy to see it aging really well.

Josh Raynolds, Vinous Media: "Opaque ruby. Expansive aromas of ripe blueberry, blackberry, incense and candied flowers are sharpened by cracked pepper and mineral flourishes. Sweet, seamless and concentrated in style, offering intense dark fruit liqueur and spicecake flavors and suggestions of licorice and olive that build with air. Lush and broad, in the style of the vintage, but there's very good structure here as well. Sneaky tannins shape the plush dark fruit on the extremely long, juicy finish."
