On the map, Petits Monts is, literally, a small stone's throw away from La Romanée and Richebourg.
This is a wine that I always buy when I see a decently priced parcel. This particular parcel is really well priced, and that only sweetens things.
I'm happy to offer Drouhin's 2013 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Petits Monts for $274.95 per bottle, the lowest price around.
Petits Monts is one of my favorite bottles from Drouhin. I'm not alone. Every time that we offer Petits Monts, it disappears in a flash. Like Roumier's Cras, Fourrier's CSJ and Meo's Cros Parantoux, this is one of those 1er Crus with a rabid following.
Drouhin's Petits Monts is seamless, dripping with class and presented with pitch-perfect harmony. The 2013 Petits Monts is utterly beautiful. The purity and finesse is on full display. Burghound calls attention to the "beautifully refined medium-bodied flavors" and "a lovely mineral streak."
Drouhin's plot in Petits Monts is farmed biodynamically. Indeed, this is an extra au naturel plot, worked by horse and plow as there's no path for a tractor, and all harvested by hand. Véronique Drouhin is convinced that the farming has really elevated this site.
I'm always excited to offer this wine. I've tasted so many absolutely killer older bottles. This is one of the most hauntingly elegant red Burgundies around.

2013 Drouhin Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Petits Monts
Special Bottle Price: $274.95
Burghound: "An explicitly floral nose enjoys added breadth in the form of spice and tea nuances on the elegant, complex and cool red and dark currant aromas. The equally elegant and beautifully refined medium-bodied flavors also possess a lovely mineral streak that runs the length of the wine and is particularly prominent on the balanced and strikingly long finish. This mildly austere effort is both stylish and very classy."
