The wines of Fourrier delight the senses from so many angles.
Fourrier's style is precise and pure, full of aromatic and fruits that seem to have been pulverized into a beautifully fine texture. There's a sense of flamboyance and gloss to the wines, but there's plenty of substance behind the style. It all adds up to an unparalleled Burgundy experience.
Jean-Marie Fourrier took over his family's domaine in 1994, after working under Henri Jayer. He wasted no time defining his unique style and catapulting his family's domaine into Burgundy's elite.
Latricières-Chambertin is famous for its mineral punch. This is a lithe and stony Grand Cru whose intensity works within a compact and slightly edgy framework. Latricières and Fourrier is one of the great marriages of the wine world. Few producers are able to coax the combination of volume, finesse, and sleek verve out of Latricières the way that Fourrier has.
The Latricières is part of a micro-négociant project that Fourrier began in 2011. Similar to some members of the new generation who work partially as négociants (like Pierre-Yves Colin), Fourrier is exacting with the winegrowers that he works with. It no doubt shows in the results.
It's rare that we get to offer Fourrier's wines. I should close with a warning: Given the reputation of Fourrier's 2019s, we expect our modest parcel to sell out quickly.

William Kelley, The Wine Advocate: "The 2019 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru is attractive, exhibiting scents of dark berries, orange rind, warm spices, cassis and sweet soil tones. Medium to full-bodied, succulent and precise, with a pretty core of fruit and a saline finish, this, too, is shaping up nicely.
