2014 Roumier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Cras

"Textbook Les Cras" -Burghound

Last week, we opened a bottle of '01 Les Cras and the bottle was so good that I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. It reminded me the heights that Cras can reach. There's magic to Roumier and Cras gets to its beating heart.

Like 2001, the 2014 is a transparent and finessed vintage. It's a vintage that I've really come to love. While the 2015s will undoubtedly be powerful and awe-inspiring wines, the 2014s work on an entirely different register. They are cast in silk and intricate weaves that thrive on a delicate, understated elegance.

Even in this context, Roumier's 2014s are on a different level. To provide some context, Burghound says that Roumier's 2014s are nearly as good as the incredible 2015s.

Les Cras is perched on a south-facing slope situated next to the Grand Cru Bonnes Mares. There's a radiant elegance and structured backbone to Cras that I really enjoy.

Roumier's 2014 Cras delivers the vintage at its best. The wine is beautifully delineated with bright and full red cherry fruit, finely crushed minerals and a gorgeous finish.

This is a brilliant vintage for Roumier's Cras. As is always the case, there's not much to go around. Please give us your ideal order and we'll try our best.
