Agrapart Rarity
Agrapart Complantée Extra Brut NV
Last week's offer on Agrapart's Mineral blew up - and then sold out. We love these wines. It was really nice to see so much interest.
Today, to a very small group of people, I wanted to offer Agrapart's rarest bottling.
The Complantée is the outlier of the Agrapart stable. It's the only wine that's not 100% Chardonnay. It's a cuvée that includes Champagne's three major grapes along with heirloom varieties like Arbanne, Petit Meslier and Pinot Blanc. It's a field blend that's co-harvested and co-fermented.
Most importantly, this is planted in a top terroir, a place where you rarely encounter Arbanne or any of the other heirloom varietals. It's from a 0.2ha parcel in the La Fosse vineyard, the same vineyard that Venus is sourced from.
Agrapart intends for Complantée to illustrate how terroir shines through and overwhelms grape variety with age. In its youth, Complantée certainly flaunts a chalky imprint. However, it also boasts a layered complexity of the wide palette of grapes not to mention some of the idiosyncratic quirks of the heirloom varietals.
Complantée has a captivating profile - herbal, perfumed floral notes, orchard fruits and zesty pungent spice notes. All of this is wrapped around a fine thread of ever present minerality. If you're familiar with Agrapart's elegant style and the obvious breeding displayed in their Blanc de Blancs, you will notice the same signature here.
Simply put, this is a fascinating wine. And a very rare one. Please give us you ideal order and we'll try our best.
