In the northern Rhône, the 2013 vintage produced mineral, structured wines with a vibrant core of acidity. Allemand captures the vintage in all of its elegance, harmony, and electric vibrancy. They're absolutely gorgeous wines.
Allemand's 2013s exemplify the incredible amount of fine-ness, detail, and transparency he's able to achieve. Nobody renders Cornas like Allemand, and it's in vintages like 2013 and 2010 where his style is expressed with pitch-perfect clarity. Chaillot offers an ultra-focused, lifted quality with fine silky tannins.
We buy and offer Allemand every chance we get. Allemand is one of the most gifted and thoughtful winemakers we know. It's hard not to agree with Vinous Media's Josh Raynolds when he writes: "let me state unequivocally that there is no estate in the entire Rhône Valley making finer wines.” In vintages like 2013, Allemand's greatness is simply undeniable.
