"Once again, Konstantin Weiser and Alexandra Künstler underline why they are among the finest growers of the Mosel. "
-Mosel Fine Wine
Based on their small size and purity-focused winemaking style, many people like to compare their wines to Willi Schaefer’s. Their stunning lineup of rieslings are soulful, delicate, and simply magical.
The Schlossberg Kabinett comes from a relatively warm site located in a side valley of the Mosel. For the last few vintages, the fruit from Schlossberg was used for their Estate Riesling, but in 2018, the fruit was of such high quality and so distinctive that they decided to bottle it separately.
The 2018 is rich, energetic, and finely detailed. There's a lovely interplay between exotic notes, cool-toned stone fruits, herbs, and slate. The silky presence and nuance are compelling.
The only downside to Weiser-Kunstler wines is that they are made in minuscule quantities. This is a great kabinett to have on hand for the warm months ahead, spicy foods, or to bury in the cellar for five-to-seven years.

Trarbacher Schlossberg Kabinett
Special Bottle Price: $26.95
Mosel Fine Wine, Jean Fisch & David Rayer: "The 2018er Trarbacher Schlossberg Riesling Kabinett was harvested at 92° Oechsle on the original Schlossberg hill, and was fermented down to fully fruity-styled levels of residual sugar. It offers a delicately broad nose made of coconut, apricot blossom, strawberry, dried herbs and fine spices. The wine develops the playful presence of a Spätlese on the palate, where apricot blossom and dried herbs play with the mild feeling of acidity. The finish is smooth, inviting and juicy"
