"An exercise in harmony and finesse"
2012 Meursault 1er Cru Clos des Bouchères

"In short, Roulot's 2012s are among the best wines of the vintage." -Burghound

It's shocking to witness what's happened at Roulot in the pass few vintages.

We've always loved Roulot and the wines have always been stunning. What's almost impossible to believe is that Jean-Marc has been progressively ratcheting up quality from an already superlative level.

It seems whenever I taste the next vintage from Roulot I think to myself, "God, these are killer."

In 2012, it's very, very likely that Roulot made the wines of the vintage.

As much as I loved the 2011 Clos des Bouchères, I may have even higher hopes for the 2012. It's just that good.

The 2012 offers a level of elegance, precision and overall balance that's rare for the vintage. Burghound calls it "an exercise in harmony and finesse." It has a heartbreaking fine-ness. There's a quiet, but saturating minerality that's delivered with a gracefulness that only the best and most thoughtful winemakers achieve.

There's no way around it: Roulot is producing some of the most riveting and mineral expressions of Chardonnay on the planet. It's amazing that Roulot has been able to reach such a vaunted status with no Grand Cru holdings and meager 1er Cru holdings.

The 1er Crus rarely see the light of day in the market - there's currently only three listings for any of Roulot's 1er Crus. It's nice that there's a little more quantity of the Bouchères to be able to offer, especially when it hits the level that the 2012 does.

It almost goes without saying, but we're looking at small quantities here. It's a luxury to be able to offer a Roulot 1er Cru. Please give us your ideal order and we'll try our best.
