An Extraordinary Dinner with Dominique Lucas & Dominique Belluard
Wednesday, March 2nd at 8pm @LOWLIFE
We're very excited to join with LowLife restaurant and Selection Massale for an unprecedented dinner with two of Savoie's top winemakers.
Dominique Lucas and Dominique Belluard are good friends, champions of obscure grapes and producers of head-spinning wines.
Both come from obscure sections of the already obscure Savoie region. Despite this, once their wines arrived in the U.S. they immediately caught on and quickly became allocated in tiny quantities. When you taste the wines, it's clear that they are some of the most compelling wines around.
We are thrilled to be a part of a dinner being held on Wednesday, March 2nd, at Lowlife. Chef Alex Leonard has created a special 7-course menu to be paired with an extensive line-up from both producers.
Seating is extremely limited. Please email us at events@crushwineco.com immediately if you are interested and how many seats you'd like.
Belluard has a huge reputation in France and he is starting to really gain steam in the U.S. People take notice when someone like David Schildknecht writes in the Wine Advocate that Belluard's wines are: "Some of the most remarkable vinous excitement and promise I have witnessed."
Dominique Lucas comes from a Burgundian winemaking family, but decided to work in Savoie near Lac Leman (the French name for Lake Geneva). His wines immediately attracted a cult following. I'd been hearing about this game-changing Chasselas for years before I could even get my hands on a bottle to try. Along with Belluard and one or two others, Lucas' wines show the heights that Savoie can reach in the hands of a careful, thoughtful winemaker.
Both Lucas and Belluard have supplied us with the some of the most eye-opening and life-affirming bottles that we've been introduced to in the past few years. This promises to be a great dinner and a rare opportunity to spend time with two of France's most thoughtful winemakers.
