The 2001 vintage was a perfect platform to showcase this style. It's a vintage that we love across the Northern Rhône. The vintage offers plenty of concentration along with a nice acid structure and vivid minerality. With age, the quality of the vintage has only become more apparent.
As you'd suspect, Jamet made some of the most compelling wines of the vintage. Their 2001 Côte-Rôtie has an extraordinary clarity. There's a punchy minerality with ultra-precise savory notes and bright red fruits.
We love getting our hands on older bottles of Jamet, but it's become increasingly difficult. Finding them in any quantity has become seemingly impossible. It's a small parcel, but it feels like a windfall.
