An Immaculate Cellar: 1961-1987

Today, we delve into a cache of perfectly stored bottles, many esoteric and unlikely to be seen again.
Think of Ridge Zins from the 60s, late harvest and otherwise, 1987 Trevallon, Old Chateau Chalon, and an impressive assortment of 60s and 70s Gewurtz.
There are also more familiar bottles, like two '69 Burgundies and Bordeaux from the 70s, including large formats.
Over the past months, we've been drinking extensively from the cellar, basically working through "canary in the coal mine" bottles to get a feel for the cellar. Even the most unlikely bottles have been impressive. For example, there was a '67 Dr. Konstantin Frank Riesling Spätlese from New York's Finger Lakes. The bottle showed incredible freshness. This speaks volumes about the storage.
We've also tasted through many of the old Gewurztraminers and have been amazed at their condition. They are not to be overlooked.
