For years, Costanti has been one of my favorite Brunellos.
The traditional style produces wines that age beautifully. They are brawny and packed with complexity, yet their true magic factor comes from their gracefulness and their haunting aromatic spectrum.
Simply put, Costanti represents one of the traditional greats. Give them time and they can be mind-bendingly good. A 1990 Brunello Normale that I drank a few days ago reaffirmed that Costanti is the real deal.
As many of you know, the 2010 Brunellos have a magical combination of concentration and intensity along with verve and purity. Above all, the wines are marked by their finesse.
Costanti's graceful style found the perfect match in the superb 2010 vintage.
The 2010 Riserva leads with striking aromatics and offers layers of pure, dense fruit, dried flowers, and spice. The wine reveals a thrilling depth and concentration while remaining lifted and delicate. In short, it's a wine of shocking harmony, power, and finesse.
I'm very happy to be able to offer this. For me, Costanti epitomizes the qualities that make Brunello one of the great wines of Italy. It doesn't get much better than the 2010 Riserva.

Eric Guido, Vinous Media: "The 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva received an official “wow” from the moment I put my nose to the glass. Here I’m finding a beguiling bouquet of crushed black cherries and mint, mixed with cinnamon and grilled sage. There’s a cool-toned feel to the silky, medium-bodied textures, and a fruit profile that is still quite dense and tightly wound, with mineral-tinged red berries and savory spices cascading across the palate. What remains is a wall of heroic structure, yet also a pleasant inner sweetness and residual acids to balance. The 2010 has many years of development ahead of it, not quite ready to reveal its charms, but like a bomb just waiting to explode."
