Bachelet is special - a tiny 4ha estate with an outsized reputation.

The wines possess a haunting nuance and soulfulness. Every vintage I devote an incredible amount of effort tracking down as much Bachelet as I can get my hands on.

Today, I'm happy to celebrate the domaine with a range of wines spanning a decade. 

From Bourgogne Rouge to Charmes-Chambertin, everything reaches an elite level. 

For me, Côte de Nuits is always one of the sweet spots in his impressive lineup. Typically, Côte de Nuits can be characterful, but also rugged and rustic. Bachelet takes the appellation to a surprising level of textural elegance and ageability.

Bachelet's Gevrey is famous for boxing well above its weight class. Along with Roumier's Chambolle and Mugneret-Gibourg's Vosne, Bachelet's Gevrey is one of the villages wines that collectors buy cases of and drink over decades.

The Charmes is one of Burgundy's masterpieces. It is among the rarest treasures of Burgundy. Allocations, even to major merchants in major cities, often come down to a single bottle. Bachelet's plot is a mere 0.44ha of very old vines. When this wine is in its zone, it has few peers.
