For many years, Castello di Verduno has been our go-to for affordable Nebbiolo.

Still, the 2024 Langhe Nebbiolo blew us away. 

It easily could cost twice as much, and we'd still be happy with it. 

The 2024 Langhe offers a compelling combination of honesty and down-to-earth drinkability with a sneaky amount of structure and seriousness.

Part of the story here is that Castello di Verduno declassified a large portion of their Barbaresco and Barolo production and put it in this bottling. In terms of raw materials alone, this is a major step up from what is already normally an overachieving bottle. 

At as low as $22.95, there was no doubt that this should be a Back Up The Truck offering. 

Castello di Verduno's 2024 Langhe Nebbiolo boasts plenty of energy and lift. It covers an incredible spectrum of flavors- high-toned floral notes, red fruits, sweet herbs, spice, and deeper earthy, savory notes. All of this is delivered with a lovely texture that blends silkiness with perfectly judged tannins. 

This is simply a profound success that shouldn't be missed.
