It became clear to us that the 2025 needed to be a "Back Up The Truck" offering. At as low as $22.95, this is one of the great deals on white wine anywhere.
The 2025 is linear and mineral-driven, boasting a silky texture and refreshing salinity. There's a very crisp and clear profile to the wine that we really like. All of this is complicated by orchard fruits and floral and spice notes.
The wine comes from organically tended vines on granite soils in the Val de Salnés subzone of Rias Baixas. Val de Salnés is located close to the sea, and the cooler microclimate is thought to produce some of the best examples of Albarino. The sheer energy of Zarate's 2025 nicely captures the style of wines that this subzone can offer.
We strongly encourage you to check this out. It's rare that the entire staff is so excited about a bottle at this price point. This is simply an undeniable bottle.
