1996 Chave Hermitage Rouge

Chave's Hermitage is one of the great wines of the world.

Hermitage is holy ground for Syrah. Even in this context, Chave has a magic touch with Syrah. No one renders the grape with such sophistication and depth.

This is a truth that only becomes more obvious with time in the cellar. Any time that we see well-stored old Chave, we jump on it.

While it has years ahead of it, the 1996 Hermitage is just starting to enter its drinking sweet spot. The '96 vintage in the Northern Rhône had a firm mineral streak for its youth. At this point, Chave's '96 has maintained the vintage's energy and vivid mineral spine, but has unleashed gorgeous aromatics of herbs, flowers and game.

The 1996 boasts the beautiful fusion of power with refinement that makes Chave so captivating, and adds a subtlety and intricacy that we really love.

I'm going to cut this short since we rarely see old Chave and this is a small parcel. Please give us your ideal order and we'll try our best.
