Clos des Mouches Rouge was one of the first sites that Joseph Drouhin bought in the 1920s, situated in a choice mid-slope location.

Simply put: Clos des Mouches is an incredible site. If Beaune is known for being somewhat sturdy and rustic, Clos des Mouches is something of an anomaly; the wine is strikingly elegant, suave, and silky in texture.
In 2023, the natural volume and amplitude of the vintage marries perfectly to the jewel-box fruit quality that Drouhin somehow also manages to tease out without losing any clarity, any sparkle.
I’ve been to many dinners where an old bottle of Clos des Mouches has outshined many of the Grand Crus at the table. The 2023 is gorgeous.
