Whenever the vintage comes up, people always mention d'Angerville as one of the greats.
Today, I'm happy to offer a very modest parcel of d'Angerville's 2019 Volnay 1er Cru for $139.95 per bottle.
Over the past twenty years, I've hunted d'Angerville's 1er Cru for its extraordinary price-to-quality ratio. The perennial issue with the wine is that it's produced in very small quantities. Allocations tend to amount to just a few cases.
The 2019 1er Cru is really spectacular. In this vintage, the wine reached a very high level of depth and velvety finesse. There's incredible precision and punch.
Even for a wine that consistently overdelivers, the 2019 is pretty mindblowing. I should close with a warning. Quantities are very limited. I encourage you to get your orders in early.
