Chevillon's wines are a pillar of our Burgundy program.
He is one of the most reliable producers in all of Burgundy. They are simply bulletproof. They are also some of the most honest, terroir-specific wines I know.
Burghound's comments on Chevillon in general and his 2021s are worth quoting at length. They capture our feelings very well. "Chevillon is without question one of the most consistent producers in all of Burgundy and if more proof was somehow needed, the 2021 vintage is Exhibit A as the quality is irreproachable. Moreover, I am convinced that if the domaine were based in Chambolle or Vosne with a similar range of 1ers rather than Nuits, the wines would sell for multiples of what they do, that's just how undervalued they are."
Recently, I had an absolutely stunning bottle of 2002 Chevillon 1er Les Chaignots. To a large degree, that was the impetus for today's offer- Chevillon's 2021 Chaignots at very sharp pricing.
The 1er Cru Les Chaignots comes from the northern side of Nuits, abutting Vosne-Romanée. Here, Chevillon is a little less massive and muscular than typical. There's some of Vosne's spice and gentle richness of aroma on the nose.
The 2021 Chaignots is a stunning example of the wine and represents the vintage at its best. It offers up lots of finesse, cut, and a bright nuanced complexity. Its spice-inflected and floral-tinged red fruits are delivered with a suaveness and punch.
This is Burgundy at its most unyieldingly honest, at its most soil-driven. Chevillon achieved something truly impressive in 2021. Quantities are limited. Let us know your ideal order, and we'll do our best!

Burghound: "As is usually the case, the expressive nose is quite spicy, indeed blind this could aromatically pass for a Vosne with its pretty plum, dark berry and exotic tea scents. The rich and quite generous yet refined and pure medium-bodied flavors exude a subtle minerality on the bitter pit fruit-inflected finale. Lovely and understated."
