I'm ecstatic to offer a wine from one of Burgundy's top producers, and from one of my favorite white Burgundy vintages.
Ever since Ian returned from Burgundy last February raving about the 2020 white Burgundies, we've been aggressively seeking the wines out. It is among the best white Burgundy vintages that I've tasted in my thirty years of collecting.
Simply put, there's no doubt that Pierre-Yves Colin is making some of the most compelling white Burgundies in existence. We include this domaine along with Coche, Lafon, and Roulot at the pinnacle of white Burgundy producers. I'm happy to crown their 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Abbaye de Morgeot Cuvée Clement et Emma as my wine of the year.
This is a personal pick for me. It is the result of the combined efforts of my dear friend and world-renowned wine collector, Wilfred Jaeger, who is the proprietor, and Pierre-Yves Colin, who farms the vineyard and produces the wine en métayage.

If you want to witness how good Chassagne-Montrachet can be, there is simply no better address than Colin-Morey. Pierre-Yves Colin's deft touch merges the village's richness with soaring complex aromatics and pristine clarity.
It doesn't surprise me in the least that consistently his Abbaye de Morgeot Cuvée Clement et Emma is one of our most popular offers. In any vintage, this is an absolutely great bottle of white Burgundy. However, the 2020 is simply jaw-dropping.
Generally speaking, the 2020 white Burgundies have a magical combination of impact and verve. Even in this strong vintage, the Abbaye de Morgeot Cuvée Clement et Emma is a standout. The wine's explosive aromatics, sleek nerve, and serious breeding make it absolutely thrilling. Only the greatest wines achieve this staggering purity of expression and depth of complexity.
Colin-Morey is one of the most fervently hunted producers in Burgundy. I'm grateful to be able to offer this as my wine of the year. Please give us your ideal order and we'll try our best.
