Recently, we've been beating the drum for Boisson's wines. They are among the most exciting wines of Burgundy.
Today, we explore an entirely different expression of their incredible work.
Boisson's Aligoté always flies off the shelves. In the 2017 vintage, I was lucky enough to land enough for an offer.
It's a great vintage for the wine, and I'm very happy to offer it for $33.95 per bottle and $29.95 in 4-packs.
If Aligoté has a reputation for producing work-a-day wines, Boisson's is something entirely different. It's a wine of thrilling cut and jagged minerality.
Boisson's Aligoté belongs to a small group of thoroughly compelling examples of the grape, like Bachelet, De Moor, and de Villaine.
We love Boisson's piercing and complex minerality that has a Chablis-like seabreeze-y character along with smokey and pulverized rock notes. The minerality is complemented by layered citrus notes of grapefruit, Meyer lemon, and lime. The 2017 stands out for its purity and laser-like persistence.
Boisson's Burgundies are one of our go-tos. We never tire of the focus and precision of their wines. The Aligoté takes their style to an extreme. Don't miss it.
