Boundary Breaker:
2021 Dujac Morey-St-Denis

Posted by Ian McFadden

Last weekend, we offered Dujac's 2021 Chambolle Villages and it sold out in a matter of hours.

Today, we're happy to return with Dujac's 2021 Morey Villages.

The enthusiastic response to the Chambolle highlights one of the truly amazing things about Dujac: The wines respect no boundaries.

Dujac makes epic Grand Cru red Burgundies, shockingly good whites, and as today’s offer drives home, village-level wines that box well above their weight class. I can think of few domaines where every bottle seems to transcend expectations by such a wide margin.

Few village wines deliver a similar refinement and complexity. It's difficult to find many comparisons. There are the breathtaking examples from Mugneret-Gibourg, Fourrier, and Roumier, but that is about it.

In the 2021 Morey-Saint-Denis, you get a very compelling snapshot of Dujac’s signature of combining intensity with an ethereal dimension. It has a gorgeous delicacy, and perfume. The wine has so much harmony and verve.

As you can guess, there is not much of the 2021 Morey-St-Denis to go around. I am sneaking this in on a Sunday in hopes that I will not have to allocate it.
