Brilliance in Meursault - 2013 Pierre Boisson Meursault

Brilliance in Meursault
2013 Pierre Boisson Meursault

This is Meursault exactly as we like it.

Boisson's wines are really exciting. They are intensely mineral and nervy with a nice dose of richness.

The only issue is that the wines are very limited and quickly disappear from the market. Simply put, you don't find wines at this level at this price often.

Boisson hit the U.S. and immediately caught on fire. The sexy marketing line for Boisson is that Pierre Boisson's friendship with Jean-François Coche's son, Raphael, had a major impact on the winemaking. Beyond this, it was immediately obvious the wines delivered in a big way.

The Meursault is sourced from 30-50 year-old vines in the lieux-dits of Criots and Perchots. It was the Meursault that first got us excited about Boisson's wines. There's a level of complexity and elegance that you rarely encounter at this level.

The 2013 White Burgundies offer a beautiful tension and clarity with a crystalline minerality and sleek elegance. They're so bright and agile that it's impossible not to be impressed.

Boisson's 2013 Meursault flaunts the best that the vintage has to offer. There's a brilliant clarity of expression and energy with a gripping textural complexity. It's full of minerality, citrus and classic Meursault nuttiness.

This is a thrilling wine in 2013 and I'm really happy to offer it. I wish that we had a bit more quantity to play with, but we should just be happy that we're able to offer such an impressive bottle of Burgundy for this price.
