"Brilliant" -Burghound
2008 Dauvissat Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos
Only Bottles in the U.S.
It's extremely rare to have a second chance at a top wine and top vintage from Dauvissat.
Today, I'm very excited to offer exactly that with a very small parcel of Dauvissat's 2008 Les Clos.
Highlighting just how rare these bottles are is simple: there are no other bottles available in the U.S.
The scarcity is no surprise. The 2008 Les Clos is easily one of Dauvissat's top efforts that we've tasted. Burghound comes out and calls it "brilliant." He's right: Vincent Dauvissat’s 2008 Les Clos is certainly an utterly brilliant bottle, a grand-scaled tribute to Chablis in top form.
Really, this is Les Clos as it’s supposed to be - dense, statuesque, nearly chewy it's so concentrated, and heartbreakingly mineral. Yet for all its grandeur, this doesn't parade as imperious or showy; this is sure-handedly detailed and calm with confidence.
With the 2008 Les Clos, there's almost a "dream brew" of tension, delineation coupled with palate-staining, crushed stone minerality, with citrus and hints of yellow plum. This is a high voltage, high intensity Les Clos that still maintains a regal finesse.
As this 2008 is certainly amongst the most impressive Les Clos vintages in recent memory, we urge you to act quickly. This is a tiny parcel and will likely disappear.

Burghound: "A ripe, pure and airy nose of classic Chablis aromas is trimmed in the barest hint of pain grillé while complementing perfectly the rich, mineral-driven and beautifully intense palate staining and mouth coating flavors brimming with oyster shell nuances on the penetrating, delineated, focused and bone dry finish. I love the underlying sense of tension here and like the Preuses, this has so much dry extract that it will require at least a decade to fully mature. Brilliant."
