Lafon's 2020s are amazing. The domaine is making some of the most exciting white Burgundies and even in this context, this is a mind-blowing cast of wines.

As is often the case, the 1er Cru Charmes represents a high point of the collection. Along with Genevrières and Perrières, Charmes is one of Meursault's great sites. Lafon's Charmes is the benchmark.
Lafon is lucky enough to have very well-situated vines in Charmes Dessus. They are just below the villages greatest 1er Cru, Les Perrières. What makes Lafon's Charmes stand out among its peers is its grandeur and rigor. Charmes is a site that can get a little plump, but Lafon's is always sculpted and tension-filled.
The 2020 Charmes boasts an almost painful concentration backed by razor-sharp acidity and incredible precision. It has beautifully clear notes of citrus and spice. Above all, it's defined by the combination of intensity and class.
When it comes to Meursault, Lafon has few peers. You'd have to look towards Coche and Roulot. In recent vintages, it's become clear that Lafon is at the top of his game. The 2020 Charmes is a monument to Lafon's work.
