Chevillon's 2014s are really stunning. Across the board, there's an element of refinement that makes it a special vintage for the wines.
Vaucrains' 80-year-old vines produce powerful, incredibly deep, mineral and savage wines. Yet, for all of its intensity, Chevillon's Vaucrain is marked by a clarity and precision that only the best Burgundies achieve.
Perrieres sits a bit higher up on the slope, and as such, it tends to be a bit finer than many of its neighbors. The wine doesn't quite possess the fullness of Les St. Georges or Vaucrains, but it shows plenty of finesse, delineation, brightness and clarity.
I'm always happy to offer Chevillon. His are some of the smartest buys you can make for your cellar. And the 2014 Chevillons are glorious.
